Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
Is chiptuning harmful?
Chiptuning is a risk-free process if performed by professionals.
Is chiptuning suitable for every vehicle?
Chiptuning can be applied to almost every vehicle after 2000. However, connection may not be possible due to some ECU manufacturers changing the connection protocol of the ECUs they produce. This also applies to ECUs whose security has not been broken yet.
What to check before chiptuning?
The most important factor here is that the vehicle is healthy. The vehicle goes through a general check before chiptuning and vehicle logs and DTC codes are checked.
How long does the chiptuning process take?
The chiptuning process usually takes 1-2 hours. However, this time may be longer for custom files.
Will my car go on the dyno?
While some custom files are being prepared, the vehicle's dyno data can be reviewed. However, for a standard tuning, we have tested them beforehand with our professional team.
Can chiptuning be applied to non-turbo vehicles?
Yes, but most of the time this process is not preferred as there will be no significant power difference.
What is Stage 1-2-3?
The higher the stage, the more power you get. However, when upgrading stages, hardware upgrades are also required.
Can chiptuning be applied to rental vehicles?
Of course, it can be implemented. You can reset your car's software to factory settings before returning your rental car.
How much power does chiptuning provide?
Chiptuning process provides an average power increase of between 20% and 30% with stage 1. These values are standard values. More power increases may be available for some vehicles. Also be careful about chiptuners that give a different percentage value.
Can I save fuel?
Yes, you can save an average of 10-15% fuel for diesel vehicles and 5% for gasoline vehicles. However, your driving style, speed and road conditions may affect these values.
Can I choose the power gain?
Yes, you can choose a lower power output than the values we offer.
I see chiptuning files sold very cheaply. What is the reason of this?
Yes, such files are available in the market. However, we do not know under what conditions and by whom those files were prepared. Also, those files are not prepared specifically for your vehicle. Such files can affect the health of your vehicle and cause irreversible damage to your engine. EcuRevs has pre-tested the chiptuning files with its professional team.
Will the original software be saved?
Yes, the original files of your vehicle will always be saved in our system.
After the service, warning lights come on in my vehicle. What is the reason?
The most likely outcome is an upgrade to your vehicle's software by the service. This can often be frustrating because the applied update will delete the software in your vehicle's ECU. But don't worry, you can contact us again and request a file specially prepared for your vehicle.
Does chiptuning affect my vehicle's warranty?
Does Chip Tuning affect the warranty?
Yes or no. Chip tuning affects the warranty, sometimes parts that are not related to chip tuning are not out of warranty, it is also necessary to realize that chip tuning is done for warranty cancellation, so we can never say that the warranty will be completely canceled.
